Week 39
Well I am nearing my end of my 52 cards in a year challenge. Only 13 cards to go. The next 9 cards are based on some of the techniques and designs of Beryl Taylor, an English fabric artist. Her work is very creative and explores a lot of different ideas and techniques.
I have also taken on board some suggestions from Lyric Kinard's quilting art magazine article on quilting on the go. These cards have a lot more hand work on them and have been made "on the go". She talks about making a small kit to take with you where ever you go. It could be just a wee small project completely made by hand or a larger project with hand work in it or a piece of work which need finishing off by hand. This card has had most of the work done by hand.

Materials: Gold paper, beads, embroidery threads, cotton fabric, silk, and gold organza
The gold paper and fabric were all attached by double sided interfacing and the starched in place. The layout of this piece is symmetrical and made to 'show off' the beads in the centre panel.
