Studio time plan.

The last few days have been spent caring for my daughter.  She has had 4 wisdom teeth removed.  She has been very swollen and very bruised.  Much worse than my other 2 girls.  It is good to see that the swelling has gone down a wee bit today and that she was able to eat a little soup for dinner.

In between caring for her I have been working on my scheduling for the year,  a new studio plan and ideas for blogging and creating this year.  I am trying a new plan I have read about.  ( I have tried to find the article but I just can't locate it at the moment. )  Working for 1 1/2 hours and then having a 1/2 hour break  (1 1/4 hour break for lunch take 1 1/2 hours if you can I am very restricted for time so this is the max. I can manage) in between each work block. I am hoping this means I can get more of a balance between work, rest and family.

Doing it this way creates a solid time of work and a break before the brain gets too tired or bored.  It also means time to do washing, gardens,  and errands without feeling like time is being wasted.

To make this plan

Decide on what time frame that you have to work with and how many hours a day you need to work. For me I only have a small amount of time in the morning and during the day when the children are all at school, so my aim is to work 5 hours a day.  My time I have to work in is between 6:00-7:00 am and 9:00 am - 3:15 pm.   So my plan looks like this. On Saturday my plan is to snatch a couple of 1/2 hour blocks. I haven't scheduled these as each Saturday will be different.  Sunday isn't on here at as it is the Sabbath and my day off.

N.B In evening do business/handwork work if possible

Then fine tune the plan.  Make a list of what needs to be accomplished each week.  My list looks like this
  • Art work
  • Quilting practice
  • Sketchbook
  • Playing
  • Business planning
  • Blogging /social media platforms
  • Computer work.
Put the creative 'jobs' on the list in the most productive time of the day for you.  Use the times of the day when you are the most tired for the more mundane non creative 'jobs'

I am the most creative in the morning so my week will look like this
